Quilt #1

 Today it's been a week since Jesus took you to your forever home...It's up to me to go thru things and make sure it goes to who you wanted it to go to...

 Your quilts, were my idea to give each child and grandchild a quilt, plus your brothers and sisters...one sister has one, one brother has one...2 of your children have one.., 3 of your grandchildren have one...We have a family get together in 2 months, hopefully I can go thru each of your quilts and decide who gets which one, of course take a photo of the quilt...


  This is the first quilt I have gone thru...a bow-tie pattern...made in double knit fabric, your favorite pattern..


             oh this is so beautiful...

                                           the hand stitches that you made....


                                         I remember having a pair of shorts from this fabric


                                         this one as well..

               How can I part with this..?...


                                       I think you had a blouse made with this fabric...

                           How can I part with this?...It's a piece of you, and our family

                        I know family will be receiving it...but this is going to be hard to part with this..

It was my idea give family a quilt...I know I'm keeping th3e one that was on your casket....in which is the bowtie pattern and double knit as well...

  This was mom's last quilts she made...She made it for Johnny ,her friend, who she has known for aa few years...She made it, designed it just for him...That's just how mom was...She was able to design quilts for each member of the family...    She would take a photo of a quilt block and without the pattern, just the photo and would figure out the pattern herself...Always buying sheets at yard sales, along with fabric, even though she didn't have any plans for them at the time...That's just how she was...Always seen quilt patterns , and would figure out patterns...She was old school, she didn't use rotary cutters, just some carboard, sand paper and pair of scissors and a pattern would form...Just who she was...a Quilter...
